How To Create A Winning Presentation for Your Business (Part 2)

How To Create A Winning Presentation for Your Business (Part 2)

At Commerce Connections, members can share details about their business in a 10-minute presentation. Typically, you’ll be able to do this about 2-3 times a year, so creating a winning presentation is worth the effort to make it informative.

In addition to your 30-second commercial at weekly meetings, member presentations are a great way to showcase what your business offers. Prior to creating your presentation, pay attention to what other members do in their presentations to help you with ideas that work well.

How To Create a Presentation

4.       Most presentations begin by sharing some personal facts such as photos of your family, pets, travels, or hobbies can provide a quick snapshot. This is the first step in building on the “know, like, and trust” factor in network marketing. A fun option can be a true/false questionnaire if the audience knows a little something about you, or a version of “3 truths and a lie” if you’d like them to guess some little-known facts about you. This section should be no more than 2 minutes of your 10-minute presentation.

5.       Your next slides should NOT be filled with words you read to the group. If you need to list certain accomplishments or certifications important to your business, for example, list them but only read one or two to your audience and move on to the next slides. When possible, include visuals to break up text on a slide. PowerPoint is great at suggesting designs to keep the presentation visually interesting.

6.       The main portion of your presentation should begin by explaining the type of problem you solve for people. Maybe your business name is clear on that, like John’s 24-Hour Plumbing, but in most cases, you want to give a clear summary of what you do (and if practical, what you don’t do). You can show pictures of what you do and use brief bullet points to highlight key tasks your business offers to customers who need your products or services.

BONUS TIP: Remember, no one else knows what you have on your slides or meant to say, so don’t draw attention to anything you “forgot” to say. In their eyes, you did a great job!

Whether you’re a new member of Commerce Connections or a veteran member, a quality presentation delivered with skill and ease will help you build “know, like, and trust” points with your fellow business owners.
